Federal Chamber of Pharmacists (BAK)
The Federal Chamber of Pharmacists (BAK) as a professional representation of political interests is responsible for questions of primary and further education, specialist training, professional law, pharmaceutical safety and quality. Membership in the BAK is mandatory for every German pharmacist. The Federal Chamber of Pharmacists is a federation of the 17 pharmacists' councils at state level.

German Pharmacists' Association
The German Pharmacists' Association (DAV) is the representation of interests of German pharmacy owners. As a strong economic association (more than 90 percent of all German pharmacy owners are members of the DAV) it primarily stands for the commercial aspects of the pharmacists' profession. It is responsible for all the negotiations with health insurances or other contracting parties within the field of pharmaceutical supply. The DAV unites the 17 associations of pharmacists at State level.
